Yoga Anatomy Online Course with Mark Stephens
October 7, 2021 @ 12:00 am - April 7, 2022 @ 12:00 am$300
This course provides a complete introduction to basic human anatomy and physiology for yoga teachers. Like a forest hike, we explore deeply in the beautiful internal world of our bodies and the nature of our tissues, starting with the basic question: what are our tissues?!
With deep bows of respect to the traditional “subtle” yoga anatomy that describes humans in terms of gunas, prana-vayus, nadis, and chakras, here we take the path of scientific knowledge. From the histology of our tissues to the nature of our bones, ligaments, tendons, and joints, we explore in ways that highlight what both allows or inhibits our ability to cultivate stability, ease and healthy changes in our bodies in doping yoga asanas.
Along the way we make constant reference to real human beings, to the unique people doing postures in yoga classes, not merely idealized forms as typically presented in yoga anatomy books and websites.
