Suffering the Silence: What You Don’t See

Last September, I had the pleasure of working on Suffering the Silence: Chronic Lyme Disease in an Age of Denial, a project near and dear to my heart. While writing her book, author Allie Cashel was also working with longtime friend Erica Lupinacci to launch Suffering the Silence, an online community that empowers those with chronic illnesses to speak up about their conditions and lives.

Since then, you may have caught Allie and Erica on Good Day NY, Cosmopolitan, or Refinery29 as Suffering the Silence continues its important work of providing a platform for those with chronic diseases to express their stories and dictate their own narratives. We’re proud to launch this video, below, in honor of Lyme Disease Awareness Month and Lupus Awareness Month.

You can help spread the word on social media, and, if you feel so inspired, snap a pic and send in your own story to Suffering the Silence here.
