ABOUT THE BOOK

Secrets of the Ninja combines the page-turning excitement of its genre with a fierce authenticity, telling the story of Nagata Saburo as he teaches his son, Hisaaki, the weapons, secret tactics, and values of the ninja.

Set against the backdrop of the Sengoku-period Japanese culture, the book elegantly interweaves a coming-of-age narrative with the lessons and skills used by ninja in feudal Japan—drawing from the Shinobi Hiden, Hattori Hanzo’s most famous ninja scroll.

The book’s award-winning author Sean Michael Wilson worked closely with expert Antony Cummins to ensure that the facts and principles in Secrets of the Ninja are historically accurate, resulting in a graphic novel rivaled by few.
