DIY Holiday Gift Ideas
For those who like to add a personal touch to the holidays by making their gifts, we decided to post a collection of DIY projects that anyone can make at home. Inspired by our books, these crafty gifts are easy to adapt, as we’ve demonstrated in a few of our posts. Check our blog on Fridays as well as the Tuesday (12/22) before Christmas for new ideas—and feel free to send photos of how your homemade presents turn out!
I found this wonderfully easy bath bomb recipe in one of my favorite titles this year: The Herbal Handbook for Home and Health by Pip Waller (an amazingly useful resource for making many household and bath products). I thought I could easily spruce up this recipe to make these gifts a little more my style. I wanted vibrant colors—then it occurred to me (as I ate a doughnut): I love doughnuts, why not make them look like doughnuts?!
To start the beauty box, I picked out three beauty products in The Herbal Handbook for Home and Health: Chocolate Bomb Lip Therapy, Mint Chocolate Face Pack, and Choca-Coco Body Scrub. Each of these items will last several months, so I was able to make them early, and check a bunch of people off of my list.
Along with the holidays often comes some extra time to relax and take time for yourself. You can help your loved ones make the most of their “me” time with this At-Home Spa Kit, which provides the perfect opportunity. All the recipes in this kit have been excerpted or adapted from The Herbal Handbook for Home and Health by Pip Waller.
With the new year on the horizon, it’s always exciting to think of what lies ahead. While some tarot spreads are meant to answer inquiries, there are others that provide readers with a more general overview. In looking at the year ahead, these types of spreads work perfectly. For this reason, I’ve selected two spreads from Benebell Wen’s Holistic Tarot that can do just that. For those of you with tarot decks at home, doing one of these readings for a friend would make a great gift—timely with the new year ahead, personalized, and easy on the wallet as well as the environment.
